Fitness Fun
Exercising can be fun! Regular exercise is great for the heart, reduces stress, and helps maintain your ideal weight. Each person should develop an individualized fitness program that is just right for him or her!
Start by picking an activity that you like, and suits your personality. If you enjoy solitude, take up walking, running or biking. If you are happier as part of a crowd, take an exercise class or join a running group.
Be creative and add variety to your routine—get outside your comfort zone and try something new like dancing lessons or boxing training.
Learning a new skill can provide stimulation for the mind as well. Remember that consistency is the key to success, and a daily dose of focused effort will help you achieve your fitness
and weight goals.
Remember that you also burn calories through hundreds of daily tasks - like gardening or walking to appointments. Use the activity tool to keep track of what you do every day.
Follow Our 4 Steps to Get Started:

Start by talking with your doctor. This is especially important if you haven't been active, if you have any health problems, or if you're pregnant or elderly. |

Make it fun! Choose something you like to do, and find a partner if prefer/like. Set a schedule on your calendar, and don’t be afraid to vary your routine. |

Start by walking 10 – 30 minutes, based on your doctor’s recommendation. Walk at a pace that allows you to carry on a normal conversation. Forget the old adage “No Pain, No Gain” and immediately stop any activity if discomfort sets in. Increase your work out time and frequency, gradually. A reasonable goal for many people is to work up to exercising 4 to 6 times a week for 30 to 60 minutes at a time. |

Keep track of everything you do during the day using our activity log on your personal page. Your activity log will capture how many calories you burn during your exercise activities as well as many other tasks that you perform during your day. Watch your progress from day to day and week to week, and you’ll begin to see and experience the benefits of regular exercise.
